I should feel inclined to reply that -

so far as we can make out, it was open to

Captain Pritchard to appeal from the decision if

he considered it an incorrect one, and if so, that

would seem to have been his proper course: we are,

however, making enquiries of the Governor in regard

to the whole matter then I would ask the Governor

for a report and a copy of the proceedings, and wheth-

er he was bised that it was open to Captain

Pritchard to appeal, and if so, whether anything

prevented him from appealing such, for example, as

the necessity of sailing on his ship almost

immediately?
